I HATE TO SAY GOODBYE- CHARLY BOY

Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy,in an interview with journalists, opened up on his age, family and not living according to norms of society...The 63 year old said...
“I’m not particular about how old or young the number is. What I care about is the age of my mind and then the age of my body. From my look, my energy and all, I feel 35 or slightly younger. That is the age of my mind. Going by my experiences, my responsibilities, my wisdom and all, I should be about 87 years old,”
ADVERTIS
“I dress the way I feel. My happy moments are when my usefulness is engaged, when I see the influence I bring into people’s lives, when I’m able to add value and make a measurable contribution to individuals and society.
He also says he never sees cherished ones off to the airport..

“I hate to say goodbye. I find it hard to do so. That’s why you may not find me seeing cherished people to the airport unless we are travelling together. Same for my relationships. I love forever.”
On his children,he said
“Unlike some parents who can’t truly love more than a child at a time, I love all my children in different ways and I see a bit of me in all of them, up to my siblings, grandchildren and all. Family is really what I have been blessed with, and my happiest moments have been family times,”
On regrets in life..
“Regrets don’t exist in my dictionary. I live life on the edge and to change it would mean doing things in traditional or conventional ways. To do that, for me, is to give up the ghost. If it’s not daunting and scary, it certainly is not for me.”

WORLD SICKLE CELL DAY IS TODAY(19TH JUNE 2015)-SHOW SOME LOVE

Since 2008, World Sickle Cell Awareness Day has been held annually, in order to help increase public knowledge and raise awareness of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and the struggles sufferers and their families go through.
The date was chosen to commemorate the day on which a resolution was officially adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations, recognising SCD as a public health concern.
SCD affects millions of people around the world, including both adults and children. It is a potentially fatal disease and, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), is one of the main causes of premature death amongst children under the age of five in various African countries.
Some health groups dedicated to SCD treatment or support hold special educational celebrations. However, even if you cannot attend one, why not spend the day researching the illness, learning about the signs and symptoms and increasing your understanding of its global impact?.Better still, show someone(sickle cell carrier) love today.

CAMEROUNIAN KING WITH 100 WIVES

Abumbi II with wives

This is the African king who has close to 100 wives after inheriting his late father’s queens as his own.
Abumbi II, became the 11th fon, or king, of Bafut in Cameroon after the death of his father in 1968.
Polygamy is still legal in Cameroon and it is tradition in rural areas for men to marry more than one woman, with no limit on how many wives one can take.
But as is custom, when a king dies, his successor inherits all of his wives, meaning Abumbi now has around 100 wives having been passed 72 rom his father.
He has taken on over 500 children from all of his wives.
Queen Constance, Abumbi’s third wife, told ‘Behind every successful man must be a very successful, staunch woman.
Our tradition has it that when you are king, the elderly wives remain to hand down the tradition to the younger wives, and also to teach he king the tradition because the king had been a prince, not a king.
